Here at Watkins Architect we have provided architectural assistance for many local churches around the area. With our expertise in religious buildings, we know what is needed to provide you with the professional service you are looking for. If you are about to start a project in your church, we would love to chat. But first, we wanted to take a moment to talk about some of our past architectural projects.
Zion’s Union Church
We worked with Zion’s Union Church on several projects. We designed a three-story 12,000 square foot addition and renovations to their existing church as well as a master plan for all future growth of their property. Special care was taken to design the project for a number of reasons. They had aging members that they wanted to give ease of accessibility. We also wanted to make sure that the addition flowed properly with the existing building. With the original building being from the 1890s, we wanted to make sure we also highlighted the architectural features in that building.
Christ Mertz Lutheran Church
Still in construction, this design project will be adding an abundance of space for Christ Mertz Church. Our master plan included a 3,860 square foot addition plus 2,360 square feet of additional basement space. Within the master plan is included an enlarged narthex, the relocation of the fellowship hall with a commercial kitchen and a variety of interior and exterior upgrades. We also included an optional patio area to provide space for outdoor gatherings. We look forward to seeing the finished project!
New Jerusalem
One thing we have to take into consideration for most of our church design projects is blending any additions in with their existing building. That statement holds true for New Jerusalem. Located in Fleetwood PA, we provided master planning for them for feasible growth. The design project included a new addition which included a narthex, elevator, and classrooms, while we also included renovations on their current building.
We believe our past work demonstrates our firm values of design compatibility with existing buildings, responsiveness to the needs and vision of clients and attention to all project phases from planning to close-out. If you are currently looking for an architecture firm to assist with the designing of your church renovations, give us a call today.
