Watkins Architect had the opportunity to host a booth at this year’s GreenCon 2013 at Dickinson College. This is an annual conference held by the U.S Green Building Council (USGBC) Central, PA Chapter. The conference included many great speakers, presentations, vendors, and sponsors.
“As a result of going to GreenCon 2013 I learned that the IECC (International Energy Conservation Code) is catching up with LEED standards and LEED is focusing on raising the bar. Many buildings today are meeting the minimum requirements of a LEED Certification or LEED Silver status, which shows the building industry, has responded positively to the LEED program.
We will most likely see a push towards Net Zero buildings for energy and interactive design for quality of life.” –John Watkins
