Watkins Architect, A Year In Review

It is hard to believe that 2018 is almost over. As we get closer to the end of the year, we reflect on our year and everything that was accomplished, personal and professional. Here, at Watkins Architect, we had a great year. Several of our architectural projects were completed this year, and we began designing and working on other projects.

Located in Fogelsville, PA, we provided architectural services for a new event space at Glasbern Inn, quintessential historic country hotel located in the Lehigh Valley, PA. The new addition, known as Glasloft, is a 2,500 square foot dining expansion. It was designed with the idea of maximizing the views of the stunning landscape. We enjoyed designing this beautiful addition to Glasbern Inn! The end result is truly breathtaking.

New Tripoli Fire Company
The unique design for the New Tripoli Fire Company included demolishing the existing outdated fire station addition from the original iconic brick school/converted banquet hall and constructing a new modern fire station addition. The new 2-story, 10,770 SF fire station includes six engine room bays, engineer’s room, offices, classroom, lounge and kitchenette. This project was recently completed, and they are getting ready to move into their new home!

Most likely you saw our past blog about Berks Catholic and the new addition. If not, head over and check it out. Known as the John R. Post Learning Center, this addition added a new McGlinn Learning Commons, conference rooms, a cafeteria expansion including a new exterior patio area and six new classrooms. One of the classrooms is a new STEM lab. We love how this design project turned out.

 

Rafferty Subaru
If you follow our Facebook page, chances are you saw updated photos for Rafferty Subaru in Newtown Square. We provided the design for their major expansion and complete renovation to create a new 49,000 SF, two-story dealership. The dealership includes a 34-bay service garage, detail center, a 3-bay customer service drop-off and a car wash.
