When it comes to a new building project for your township, you want to make sure you pick an architect who has the experience. We’d like to review a few past township and community projects we have recently worked on.
Associations
Perry Township Game Association retained Watkins Architect to design and complete construction documents for their 530 sq. ft. Clubhouse Addition, which increased the area of the existing large meeting room and provided an additional outdoor deck. Construction is anticipated to begin in December.
Fire Companies
New Tripoli Fire Company came to us for assistance in planning and designing a new 10,770 sq. ft., 2-story fire station. This architectural project was rather unique in that it involved demolishing an existing outdated fire station addition, from the original iconic brick school/converted banquet hall, and constructing the new fire station addition. The new station includes six engine room bays, four with high ceilings for tilt cab maintenance, along with gear, SCBA, and engineer’s rooms. It also includes a new second floor that has offices, classrooms, a lounge and kitchenette. This project was completed in late 2018.
Townships & Police
Mount Joy Township recently came to us for assistance in designing their adaptive of reuse a former elementary school and consolidation of the township’s municipal, police, and public works facilities, all into one shared complex. The project included designing the renovations of the current building as well as additions to it. This project was completed late 2017.
